In Australia there are 43 universities, 6 of which are among the top 100 in the world (Source: Times Higher Education, London UK). Australian universities offer a wide range of courses &ndash; from science to management and commerce, humanities to engineering, and law to health sciences.



There are three main types of higher education, which lead to Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degrees.



It is quite common for students in Australia to enroll in a double or combined Bachelor Degree program which leads to the award of two Bachelor Degrees. This is most common in the fields of arts, commerce, law and science.



General requirements for entry

have an acceptable senior secondary qualification from your high school (or have studied for at least one year at tertiary level studies)
have achieved certain grades in your academic studies
meet the English language requirements
meet any special entry requirements such as health or security checks or submission of a portfolio – depending on a specific degree

Universities intake

Most degree programs have two intakes per year:

Autumn Session: February to June (16 Weeks)
Spring Session: July to November (16 Weeks)

Some universities offer 3 intakes per year: January; May; August
